Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio (음악감상과 뮤직비디오)

언제부터 이노래를 자주 듣게 되었는지는 모르겠네요.
한번 들으면 리듬을 잊어버릴 수 없을 정도로 리듬감이 뛰어난
음악인 것 같습니다.



이 노래는 1963년 8월 1일에 태어난 쿨리오의 두번째 앨번
[Gangster's Paradise]에 수록 된 곡입니다.
힙합으로서는 전세계에서 히트친 최초의 노래라고 볼 수 있습니다.
유럽싱클차트에서도 1위를 했습니다.

1995년 [Gangster's Paradise]가 전세계적으로 히트하면서 쿨리오는
힙합계의 거장이 되었고,
우리나라에서도 꽤 인기가 있었습니다.




영화[Dangerous Minds]의 삽입곡으로도 들어갔었습니다.
이 영화에서 미셀 파이퍼가 문제아들을 가르치는 선생님으로 나옵니다.
영화는 그닥 히트치지는 못했지만 삽입곡은 상당히 유명해졌습니다.

쿨리오는 두번째 앨범이 그의 인생을 역전시켜주는 공전의 히트를 쳤지만, 그 이후는 성공한 앨범이 없습니다.
지나치게 큰 성공이 부담이었나 봅니다.
